Don’t Miss This: Local computer whiz’s obit goes viral

▪ The obituary of a local tech expert has gone viral thanks to his well-known sense of humor.

Bill Fink, 46, died Dec. 16. His memorial notes Fink was a “technical evangelist” for Microsoft and that he passed away when he “encountered an unhandled exception in his core operating system which triggered a critical ‘STOP’ condition.”

Fink was a 1987 graduate of Belleville East High School.

▪ Local roller derby enthusiast Samantha Miller was remembered by her friends and family this week in a graveside Christmas memorial.

Miller, a mother of three, was killed in October by an allegedly drunk driver along the side of Interstate 55 near Troy.
