Christmas in the metro-east will be warm and dry

Are you dreaming of a white Christmas this year? Sorry, but you’re out of luck.

According to weather.com, temperatures will reach into the mid-50s on Christmas Day under mostly sunny skies before dropping into the mid-40s as you head back to the serving line for more Christmas dinner. There is a 0 percent chance of precipitation.

That will change Saturday as thunderstorms are expected with Boxing Day temperatures climbing into the low 60s. Rain will continue through the weekend and into Monday, though temperatures will drop sharply beginning Saturday night, bottoming out in the low 40s. By New Year’s Day, high temperatures will be much more seasonable in the mid 30s with lows bottoming out in the low 20s.
