IDOT to close part of Illinois Avenue in Waterloo

The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to carry out storm sewer work on Illinois Avenue east of Illinois Route 3 in Waterloo.

Work is scheduled to begin Jan. 4, depending on weather, IDOT said. The road is set to be closed during the project, and a marked detour is planned to direct traffic around the closure.

The closure is needed to install a new storm sewer and concrete pavement. Work is scheduled to be completed by March 4, weather permitting.
