Rain may return to metro-east by midweek

There is a slight chance rain will return to the metro-east Wednesday, but until then, the outlook is for mostly sunny skies and cold temperatures, according to the National Weather Service.

It will be cloudy Sunday with a high temperature near 37 and a low around 23. Monday will be partly sunny, with a high near 33 and a low around 21.

On Tuesday, the high temperature is expected to reach 39. It will be sunny, and the low will be around 25.

It will still be partly sunny by Wednesday, with a high near 41. The low temperature will be around 33.

There is a 20 percent chance of rain after 7 p.m. Wednesday. A flood warning remains in effect in the metro-east until Thursday.
