Victims of flooding across Illinois and Missouri continue to receive recovery help from American Red Cross volunteers.
The Red Cross on Sunday is operating shelters in Granite City and Murphysboro, as well as in Arnold and Cape Girardeau. Volunteers will be distributing clean-up supplies and delivering meals to affected neighborhoods, among other efforts.
A total of 17,701 meals and snacks have been given to victims so far, and there have been 586 overnight stays in shelters.
Major flooding will continue along portions of the Mississippi River throughout the week, according to the National Weather Service
