Business Briefing: Experts propose green solutions for flooded regions

A group of experts have collaborated in Chicago to provide a green solution for areas recently ravaged by flooding.

Delta Institute and Guidon Design Inc. have created green infrastructure design templates that are now available online. The templates provide technical drawings, construction notes, and cost and maintenance information for rain gardens, stormwater planters, permeable pavement, underground storage and bioswales — sloped landscaping that helps capture and filter stormwater.

Monsanto will cut 1,000 more jobs as sales of biotech-corn seeds continue to fall. To date, the company has recently laid off 3,600, about 16 percent of its workforce. Read more here.
