Columbia firefighters battle overnight house fire

Firefighters on Tuesday night fought a blaze in the basement of a home in Columbia.

The fire was reported at 10:53 p.m. in a house near the intersection of Woodhaven and Kalowski streets and Oak Tree Drive.

No one was reported to be injured in the fire. The fire department contained the flames to the basement of the home.

Firefighters from Dupo and Millstadt assisted in battling the blaze with Dupo sending an engine and crew to Columbia to man its fire station and Millstadt sent an engine and a tanker to the scene of the fire.
