Cha-ching: Powerball jackpot reaches $900 million


The largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history could be won Saturday night as the Powerball jackpot has increased to $900 million.

The Illinois Lottery tweeted out the new jackpot total at 10:34 a.m. Saturday:

The winning numbers in the Wednesday drawing were: 02–11–47–62 –63 and the Powerball number was 17.

While there was no jackpot winner, more than 252,000 prizes ranging from $4 to $150,000 were won in Illinois during Wednesday night’s drawing.

Illinois residents, 18 and over, can play Powerball and all of the Illinois Lottery’s draw-based games by using the Illinois Lottery’s mobile app. The free app is available for download on iOS and Android devices and offers any Illinois adult the chance to purchase lottery tickets on their smartphone. Players can also purchase their tickets online at or at more than 8,000 retailers statewide.
