It’s going to be a blustery Tuesday in the metro-east.
The high temperature of 38 was already reached before the sun came up. The mercury is expected to fall throughout the day under gradually clearing skies, dropping to 20 by 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service.
It will seem even colder with a stiff wind blowing from the northwest at up to 32 mph.
Overnight Tuesday the low will drop to 18 under mostly clear skies. Winds will calm to 5-10 mph.

A warming trend will start Wednesday. The high will climb to 43 under mostly sunny skies. That’s about six degrees warmer than the average high of 37 for mid December in the metro-east.
It will be mostly clear with a low of 31 Wednesday night.
On Thursday, the high will reach 53 under sunny skies.
Temperatures will remain warmer than usual Thursday night when the low will be 42. But things could get wet as a 40 percent chance of rain moves into the area.
