Temperatures will warm up - at least for a couple of days

After a couple of icy days, the metro-east will warm up for a little while.

Overnight the low will drop to 31 under mostly clear skies.

It will be even warmer Thursday when the high will shoot up to 55 under sunny skies, 18 degrees above normal.

A 40 percent chance of rain will move into the area Thursday night. But the low will remain well above freezing at 44.

There is a 60 percent chance of rain Friday before noon. After that it will drop to a 20 percent chance of wet weather. The high will reach 47 by noon but will drop after that, falling to 36 in the afternoon hours.

Mostly cloudy skies and a low of 24 are expected Friday night.

The extended forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a low of 34 Saturday. The high will only reach only 24 under mostly sunny skies.
