Search crews are continuing their search for a hunter who was last seen on Monday near Cahokia.

The search for Christopher Stasiak, of Dupo, resumed at 3 p.m. Wednesday, allowing volunteers time to make it to the search area. Dogs are being used to help with the search, said Herb Simmons, St. Clair County’s director of emergency management agency.

The search area is also swampy and flooded, and crews wanted to give the area time to dry out, Simmons said.

Stasiak was last seen Monday while armed with a bow and several arrows, when he was dropped off along Illinois 3 near Cahokia where he planned to hunt. He also had a backpack and a tree stand with him.

Stasiak is described as 5-foot-9 and 272 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. He was dressed in cold weather camouflage gear and boots when he was last seen.
