A Veterans’ Resource Fair is set to run from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday at the VFW Hall, 406 Veterans Drive, Waterloo.
Groups scheduled to take part include Southwestern Illinois College, the Illinois departments of veterans affairs and employment security, and the Illinois attorney general’s office. The event is free and open to the public, with coffee and doughnuts will be provided.
“These organizations do invaluable work for our veterans, and by putting them in the same room, it makes it easier for our veterans to ask questions and learn about services,” said state Rep. Jerry Costello II, D-Smithton, the event sponsor. “I invite all veterans and their families to attend the resource fair, and I thank these organizations for the work that they do.”
Costello, a U.S. Army combat veteran of Operation Desert Storm, is holding the fair to provide career and educational opportunities for former service members, along with information on benefits from public and private programs.
