Two injured in head-on vehicle collision in Collinsville

Two people were injured — one seriously — Sunday morning in a head-on vehicle collision in Collinsville.

Capt. David Meadows with the Collinsville Fire Department said the accident occurred about 8 a.m. at 519 Beltline Road.

“There was entrapment upon arrival,” he said. One motorist experienced what was considered a “level one trauma,” which is more serious, Meadows said. Both people were transported to Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Their conditions and the cause of the accident was not known as of Sunday afternoon.
