Don’t Miss This: Metro-east man saves woman’s life

Don’t miss these top stories Wednesday on BND.com:

▪ A metro-east paramedic was in the right place at the right time earlier this month.

Keith Mills, whose day job is being an engineer at Boeing in Missouri, stopped for gas on his way home to Marine. As he was pumping fuel he happened to be looking in the direction of Michelle Clark, 57, of Fairmont City.

Clark paused for a moment and fell to the pavement, hitting the back of her head on the pavement.

Mills and a woman at the gas station did CPR on Clark until an ambulance could get there, ultimately saving her life.

▪ Kenny Fischer, longtime operator of the Belleville restaurant the bears his sir name, has died at 84.

Fischer, who passed away in his sleep according to his family, was called an icon by Mayor Mark Eckert.

Fischer’s, located at 2100 W. Main St., is now run by his daughters, Kathy Bingheim and Annette Allan.

▪ The court marshal of an Air Force sergeant is underway at Scott Air Force Base.

Isaac O. Concey is accused of inappropriately touching a female and of great bodily harm to a woman under his supervision while he was stationed in Germany in 2011.
