Warmer and likely wet weather expected Monday
Metro-east residents will get the work week started off with warm but potentially wet weather.
A high temperature of 47 is expected Monday with a 40 percent chance of rain, according to the National Weather Service.
That’s nine degrees warmer than the average high temperature of 38 for late January in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
Rain is most likely from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
After that, the chance of wet weather will decrease to 20 percent. Skies will eventually become mostly cloudy overnight with a low of 30.
It will be partly sunny Tuesday with a high of 36 and wind gusts up to 21 mph.
Skies will become partly cloudy Tuesday night with a low of 23.
On Wednesday, the high will reach 36 under sunny skies.
Wednesday night, partly cloudy skies are expected with a low of 27.
The extended forecast calls for a warming trend by the weekend.
Skies will be mostly sunny Thursday with a high of 46 Thursday. On Friday it will be mostly sunny with a high of 51. The temperature is expected to reach 58 Saturday under sunny skies.
