St. Clair County Board renews veterinarian contract
The St. Clair County Board on Monday renewed a contract with Janet G. Linton to be the administrator of Animal Control in 2016 for $19,200.
Linton is a veterinarian with the Belleville Animal Clinic.
County Administrator Debra Moore said Linton provides five veterinarians, seven days a week to the county.
“They come to our facilities daily and provide excellent service,” Moore said.
The clinic has provided the county services for about five years and has only increased prices once, Moore said.
Other business
▪ Construction boring business: County board members approved the relocation of a construction boring business to a farm along Grodeon Road in Mascoutah.
The business plans to build a new 3,600-square-foot pole barn for a new office and shop and a 7,200-square-foot pole building for truck and equipment storage, according to county documents.
▪ Firearms sales: County board members approved Kevin Kinder’s request to have a special use permit for a home occupation.
The Millstadt resident plans to sell firearms at his new house along Wirth Road in the agricultural industry zoned area.
Sales would be by appointment only. Kinder, who sold firearms at his previous residence, has said he expects only five to 10 sales per month. Kinder needs zoning approval before they can obtain an updated permit from the state.
