IDOT plans work along westbound I-55/64 in East St. Louis

The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to have a lane closure Friday along westbound Interstate 55/64 near the southbound Illinois 3 exit, the agency said.

The right lane of the roadway is scheduled to be closed east of the Poplar Street Bridge from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., IDOT said.

The left lane as well as the ramp to southbound Illinois 3 are set to be open during the work.

IDOT said workers are scheduled to repair a bridge expansion joint.

Significant delays are anticipated and motorists are urged to find alternative routes, IDOT said.
