▪  Steve Ashe is the Southern Illinois Builders Association’s new president. He’s employed by the E.T. Simonds Construction Co. of Carbondale. Other 2016 SIBA officers include first vice president Harvey Wolf of Granite City-based L. Wolf Construction Co., second vice president Kent Kampwerth of River City Construction, LLC’s Benton office and secretary-treasurer Kent Richards of St. Louis-based Subsurface Constructors Inc.

▪  The Illinois Surgical Quality Improvement Collaborative named Anderson Hospital surgeon Dr. Charles Lane the recipient of its Excellence in Quality Award for Surgeon Champion. Hospitals affiliated with ISQIC share best practices and participate in coordinated training aimed at increasing surgical quality. Anderson CEO Keith Page said, “Dr. Lane has gone above and beyond the requirements and expectations set forth by the ISQIC Coordinating Center and we are honored to have him on staff and leading these efforts at Anderson Hospital.”

▪  A leadership shakeup at law firm Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C. has led to the appointment of Timothy R. Thornton as the firm’s first CEO effective Monday. Thornton has been with the firm since 1981 and replaces former firm president Vincent J. Garozzo. Heather Henry was appointed as the firm’s chief operating officer. The firm is based in St. Louis and has offices in Belleville and Chicago.
