▪ Roller derby fans turned out over the weekend to honor a woman killed by an allegedly drunken driver in October.

Samantha Miller, a mother of three who was killed when he car stalled along Interstate 55/70 and she was struck by a pickup truck.

The 27-year-old was a member of the local roller derby team called the Confluence Crush which on Saturday night saw its first action since Miller died.

The Canada-based chain Tim Horton’s plans to open a new location in O’Fallon in the spring.

The restaurant will be housed in a building that also will contain a Reliance Bank branch along Regency Park Drive.

▪ Fairview Heights leaders are dealing with a rash of heroin overdoses in their city.

Three people overdosed on the drug in 11 hours, according to police reports. One of them later died.
