Don’t Miss This: Systematic humiliation of Illinois prisoners

▪ ▪ A group of inmates have filed a lawsuit against an elite group of Illinois Department of Corrections guards they say humiliate and terrorize prisoners across the state.

The prisoners complained that guards forced them to strip naked and march in close formation while they were taunted and threatened. Prisoners said they were told they would receive solitary confinement if they didn't follow directions, including orders to press their naked bodies against the person in front of them, without resistance.

Prisoners also complained that they were made to stand for hours with their faces pressed against a wall and their hands cuffed behind their backs while members of the guard unit searched their cells.

▪ A Washington Park man who started a food truck business two years ago plans to open a brick and mortar restaurant in west Belleville.

Jeff Green, 24, of Washington Park, expects to open his eater in the former Taco Bell at 4004 W. Main St.
