According to Illinois State Police reports, Goldsberry lost control of his 2002 Lincoln Blackwood on eastbound Interstate 64 near the Illinois 158 interchange. The crash was reported at 11:40 p.m. Monday.
“The driver went off the road to the right and then over-corrected to the left,” Illinois State Police spokesman Calvin Dye Jr. said. “This caused the vehicle to roll over several times down the roadway before it came to a rest on its passenger side.”
The front of the car was propped up on the concrete highway divider.
Police have not released information about what they believe may have caused the crash, though snowy conditions may have been a factor.
The Lincoln flung parts all over the highway as it flipped down the roadway, Dye said. The driver of a passing tractor-trailer truck said his vehicle was struck by the debris but he was not injured.
