Cold weather, snow likely through weekend
Overnight snow has largely moved out of the St. Louis metropolitan area, leaving behind only a few lingering flurries by the Friday morning rush.
Gradually clearing skies are expected Friday with a high temperature in the metro-east of 31, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday night, the low will plunge to 7 under mostly clear skies.
It will be bitterly cold Saturday with a high of only 17. That’s 26 degrees colder than the average high temperature of 43for the date in the St. Louis area.
A 40 percent chance of snow will move into the area Saturday night, when the low will drop to 14.
Snow is likely Sunday with a 60 percent chance throughout the day. The high will be 29 with winds that gust up to 22 mph.
Sunday night, there will be a 20 percent chance of snow with a low of 25.
