Man shot in the hand in East St. Louis
A man was shot in the hand during a disturbance at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday on the VFW Hall parking lot, 502 S. 22nd St., police said.
The shooter fled the scene and is being sought, police said. The victim was not identified.
Police Chief Michael Hubbard said, “A fight broke out and an unknown subject retrieved a handgun from his truck and started shooting, and a bullet caught the unnamed victim in his left hand.”
The man was treated at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
A description of the gunman was not released.
