Winter weather advisory issued; snow in forecast

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the St. Louis region.

The advisory is for snow, and is in effect from 6 p.m. Saturday through 6 p.m. Sunday.

Snow was predicted to develop Saturday evening, with accumulation of 2 to 3 inches.

On Sunday morning, snow is expected to taper off to flurries or light freezing rain. A glazing of ice is possible.

Roads could rapidly become slippery.

The high for Saturday was expected to reach about 22 degrees, and the low in the evening will dip to about 18.

A high of about 30 was predicted for Sunday.
