Millstadt man who beat woman with disability gets four years in prison

A Millstadt man has been sentenced to four years in prison for aggravated battery of a person with a disability.

Antoine D. Killion, 36, was sentenced Monday on four counts of aggravated battery for making “physical contact of an insulting nature” with Precious Smith, according to the charges.

Killion was accused of punching Smith in the face, pulling her hair out, slamming her head against a patio door then spitting on her on June 16.

Killion was found guilty in a bench trial in December. The case was investigated by Centreville Police Department.

St. Clair County Assistant State’s Attorney Areda A. Johnson prosecuted Killion.

Killion could have faced up to five years in prison or probation. State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly thanked Circuit Judge Zina Cruse for the sentence. He also thanked Johnson and police for their work on the case.
