▪ A national fugitive spotted in the Marissa over the weekend has been captured.
Police said Scotty Eugene Priest, who was described as being mentally unstable and potentially armed was wanted for harassment and for making threats to commit acts of terrorism.
Priest, who is from Decatur, Tenn., turned himself in to police on Sunday in Kentucky.

Columbia Police Department Chief Joe Edwards is on paid administrative leave while he is the subject of an unspecified investigation.
The fact that Edwards is under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department has been confirmed by Columbia Mayor Kevin Hutchinson.
Jerry Paul, who has served as the department’s deputy chief, is serving as interim chief in Edwards’ absence.
▪ A new eatery is coming to downtown Belleville.
The Double Barrel Lodge will take over the former home of Quizno’s sandwich shop at 200 E. Main St. as well as the current home of Junction Coffee and Frozen Yogurt in the same building.
Described as a fast casual restaurant, the developers of the restaurant are hoping for incentives from the city. Aldermen will consider the request during the Tuesday City Council meeting.
