Chance of snow, rain Tuesday; then the warmup begins

A mix of snow and rain is expected in the metro-east Tuesday, even as temperatures begin a week-long warmup following the weekend snow in the region.

Tuesday’s high should top out at 42 on Tuesday, with a winter weather advisory in place until noon, according to the National Weather Service. The chance for morning snow showers will change to rain in the afternoon, with a 67 percent chance of precipitation during the day.

Wednesday should be cloudy but drier, with a high of 42, while the mercury climbs to a high of 56 on Thursday under mostly sunny skies.

Friday will be downright springlike, with a high of 71 under mostly sunny skies. Saturday should see a high of 64, under partly sunny skies.
