Snow flurries early, then the gradual warmup begins

Scattered flurries are possible Thursday across the metro-east.

But they're not expected to be significant enough to cause the sorts of problems that snow and high winds created for motorists during the morning commute the day before.

Flurries are expected to leave the area by noon, according to the National Weather Service. Winds will blow at up to 26 mph with a high temperature of 39.

Overnight, the low will be 26 with skies gradually clearing.

Skies will be mostly sunny with a high near 45 Friday. It will be mostly clear with a low of 29 Friday night.

While the work week has been cold and snowy, the weekend will feature much nicer weather.

On Saturday, skies will be sunny with a high of 59. It will be mostly clear Saturday night with a low of 42.

The high on Sunday is expected to reach 66 –17 degrees warmer than the average high temperature for the end of February in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
