A Belleville bank was robbed Friday morning, according to police reports.

The crime happened at just after 9 a.m. at the U.S. Bank location at 1820 Lebanon Ave.

But Ware described the suspect as a black male with dark hair and a mustache who was wearing black and sunglasses. He displayed no weapon but showed a teller a note announcing the robbery and demanding money.

The robber fled in an undetermined direction. Investigators wouldn’t say how much money he was able to escape with.

Belleville Police, as of Friday afternoon, had released no additional information about the crime.
