Falling temperatures, falling rain Tuesday

Both rain and the temperature are expected to fall throughout the day Tuesday in the metro-east.

The high of 50 will be reached early in the morning, according to the National Weather Service. The mercury is expected to fall to 37 by the mid afternoon. Meanwhile, there is an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms before 1 p.m. Winds will gust at up to 33 mph.

After 1 p.m., the chance of rain for the St. Louis metropolitan area will decrease to 30 percent.

Tuesday night the low will drop to 26 with a decreasingly cloudy sky.

Clouds will gradually return throughout the day Wednesday when the high will be 47.

There is a 50 percent chance of rain Wednesday night when the low will be 38. The most likely time for showers will come after 9 p.m.

On Thursday there is a 60 percent chance of rain with a high of 49.

It will be mostly cloudy with a low of 30 Thursday night.
