But the announcement was suddenly postponed “for a couple of days” Thursday with developers insisting, despite the delay, that construction on the inns would start in 2016.

▪ An East St. Louis minister who was pulled from his burning home Sunday has died.

Rev. Henry Nicholson, 82, who was the former pastor at True Light Missionary Baptist Church, passed away because of injuries suffered in the blaze.

The state fire marshal is investigating the fire and it could take up to six weeks to definitively determine how it started.
