Fire and rescue agencies assembled Saturday in the Fairmont City area for a search for a missing person.
Authorities said they were searching for Allen M. Peters, 27, of East St. Louis, who had last been seen on Feb. 25.
St. Clair County Sheriff's Investigator Scott Toth said Peters was causing a disturbance at the Foodland store, which is located at 8401 Collinsville Road in Fairmont City, on Feb. 25. The store’s manager called police.
“He exited the building and saw police activity near his vehicle. He fled west on foot behind the building toward a wooded area,” Toth said. “A witness, who was with him, says he’s not been seen since.”
