Who’ll stop the rain? Downpours expected for metro-east through Sunday

Rain is likely for the metro-east through the weekend.

Up to 4 inches could fall over the next six days, potentially causing local streams to spill over their banks, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a slight chance of thunderstorms during the day Tuesday when the high will reach 69. Winds will gust out of the south at up to 28 mph.

But the likelihood of storms will increase to 80 percent Tuesday evening, when the low will drop to 58.

On Wednesday, there is a 90 percent chance of heavy rain with a high of 68.

The chance of heavy rain will be 80 percent Wednesday night, when the low will be 59.

The likelihood of heavy rain bumps back up to 90 percent Thursday, when the high will be 66.

On Thursday night, the chance of showers will drop to 60 percent and the low temperature will be 51.
