Police are looking for a man from Cahokia who has been missing for several weeks.

Cahokia Police Lt. Dennis Plew said police are looking for assistance from the public to locate 42-year-old Delbert Smith.

Smith has not been seen for nearly a month, according to police reports.

Plew said family members are concerned. “Family members say that Smith frequently stays away from home, but not for longer than a week or so,” Plew said.

Smith is described as 5-foot-8 with a thin build, and he weighs about 145 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a Yankee baseball hat, white New Balance shoes and a black coat.

Smith is known to frequent both sides of the river. "He is also known to frequent Granite City. He hangs out at Metro Link stations, too.” Plew said.

Smith is a resident of the St. Joseph Gardens subdivision.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the Cahokia Police Department at 618-337-9505.
