Rain is expected to hang around the metro-east throughout the day Thursday.
But it appears the worst of expected precipitation will miss the region to the south, leaving only occasional showers as opposed to soaking rain and the possibility of flash flooding.
The high will be 58, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain is expected to break up by about 4 p.m., leaving mostly cloudy skies Thursday night. The low will be 42.

Skies will be partly sunny Friday with a high of 63.
There is a slight chance of showers Friday evening but the likelihood of rain will increase to 60 percent near midnight.
A 50 percent chance of showers is in the forecast Saturday when the high will be 69.
The chance of rain will increase to 80 percent Saturday night when the low will be 57.
