IDOT plans intermittent closures along westbound I-55/64 overnight

The Illinois Department of Transportation plans intermittent lane closures of all westbound lanes of Interstate 55/64 between Third Street and Tudor Avenue approaching the Poplar Street Bridge in East St. Louis.

The closures are scheduled between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 4 a.m. Wednesday.

The lane closures are expected to be limited to 15-minute periods each and are necessary to remove existing overhead sign structures, IDOT said. During these hours, traffic may also be restricted to one lane. Delays are expected and motorists are asked to use alternate routes if possible.
