Monroe County: Koerber wins race for board seat
The current Monroe County coroner earned the Republican nomination for a seat on the County Board of Commissioners Tuesday night.
Coroner Vicki Koeber topped Mark Altadonna 4,072 votes to 2,971 in the race for the Republican nomination, setting up a November contest against Democrat Leo Stephan, who was unopposed Tuesday.
Two Republicans were fighting for the GOP nomination to replace Koerber as coroner. Bob Hill beat Wayne Kohlmeier 3,960 votes to 3,025. Hill will take on Democrat Cassy Goldschmidt, who was unopposed Tuesday.
Two Republicans and two Democrats each sought the nomination to replace State’s Attorney Kris Reitz, who is retiring.
On the Republican side, Christ Hitzemann narrowly beat Myron Hanna 3,566 votes to 3,310. In the Democratic race, Heather Wescoat Dabler topped Dennis Fields 1,492 votes to 1,284.
Candidates running for Circuit Clerk—Republican Lisa Fallon and Democratic incumbent Sandra Sauget—were unopposed Tuesday.
