Gusty winds, a little cooler temperatures in store
Skies will become increasingly cloudy Wednesday across the metro-east with a high of 64, according to the National Weather Service.
That’s 15 degrees cooler than the high of 79 reached Tuesday. But it is still nine degrees warmer than the average high temperature of 55 for March 16 in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
A red flag warning, which means conditions are too dangerous for outdoor burning, has been put in place from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. because of low humidity and high winds. Gusts of up to 31 mph are expected.
Skies will be mostly cloudy Wednesday night with a chance of sprinkles and a low of 41.
The high will be 63 Thursday under sunny skies. Winds will continue to be a factor with gusts up to 30 mph.
It will be mostly clear Thursday night with a low dropping to 36.
Skies will be partly sunny Friday with a high of 53. Friday night it will be cloudy with a 20 percent chance of rain and a low of 35.
The weekend forecast calls for a 30 percent chance of rain Saturday with a high of 49. On Sunday, the high will be 50 under sunny skies.
