Granite City brawl nets four arrests

Granite City police are looking into “a large fight” in which someone fired a gun in Stearns Park, near St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.

The fight, which unraveled Tuesday evening around 6:30, led to the identification and arrest of four young men.

Brendan Day, 18, of Caseyville, allegedly fired the weapon. The Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office charged him with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, reckless discharge of a firearm and mob action. His bail is $75,000.

Daniel Armstead, 20, of Collinsville, was charged with mob action. His bail is $25,000.

Rachiim Johnson, 20, of Glen Carbon, was charged also charged with mob action. His bail is $25,000.

Robert Fulks, 20, of Granite City, was charged with mob action, too. His bail is $25,000.

The four suspects were in the Granite City jail as of 5:00 p.m. Wednesday. They were to be transported to the Madison County Jail later that evening.
