Chance of snow expected over weekend

Snow remains in the forecast for the start of spring this weekend in the metro-east.

After a couple of weeks of temperatures well above normal, a cooling trend will settle in, along with a 30 percent chance of rain Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

The likelihood of rain increases to 80 percent Friday night into Saturday morning, when the low will be 35.

On Saturday morning, there is a 30 percent chance of rain before 7 a.m. After that it will be mostly cloudy with a high of 48.

Saturday night, a 30 percent chance of rain re-enters the forecast with a low of 33.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain or snow before 9 a.m. Sunday — ironically, the first day of spring. The snow and rain mix will turn to rain only as the temperature rises toward its expected high of 46.

Sunday night, it will be partly cloudy with a low of 32, right at the freezing mark.
