Postal worker falls into manhole in East St. Louis
A U.S. Postal Service worker was injured in East St. Louis Thursday when he fell into an open manhole.
According to Postal Service reports, the letter carrier was delivering in the area of 22nd Street and St. Clair Avenue when he walked over a manhole covered with a sheet of plywood.
The wood split when the worker stepped on it and he fell partially into the hole. His injuries were minor with a banged up elbow and leg.
