Calendar says spring, forecast calls for snow
Light snow and an overnight freeze warning are looming around the first day of spring.
Sunday will bring scattered rain and snow showers to the metro-east before 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Then, scattered rain showers are expected between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
It will be cloudy Sunday with a high temperature near 46 and a low around 30.
The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning for Monday, from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. The freeze watch for Sunday is no longer in effect.
Temperatures are expected to drop several degrees below freezing over much of the St. Louis area early Monday morning. The rest of the day, however, is expected to be sunny, with a high near 58 and a low around 43.
Temperatures will rise on a sunny Tuesday, with the high near 70 and the low around 52.
