Rising temperatures return; rain midweek
The work week will start off with frost on windshields as a freeze warning is in effect for the metro-east.
But things will warm up as the day -- and the week -- goes on, according to the National Weather service.
The high Monday will reach 58 under sunny skies with a light breeze from the west.
It will remain mostly clear overnight with a low of 41.
On Tuesday, the high will jump up to 71 under sunny skies. That’s 14 degrees warmer than the average peak temperature of 57 for March 22 in the St. Louis metropolitan area. Winds will gust at up to 25 mph.
It will remain breezy Tuesday night as a few cloud move into the area and the low drops to 53.
There is a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms Wednesday when the high will be 69. Winds will blow at up to 23 mph from the south.
The chance of wet weather will increase to 70 percent Wednesday night with showers likely and a thunderstorm possible. The low will be 48.
