IDOT: Part of Illinois 3 in Brooklyn to be closed Wednesday

The Illinois Department of Transportation on Wednesday plans to close the northbound lane of Illinois 3 at Canal Street in Brooklyn so a water main can be fixed.

Work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and be completed by 8 p.m., IDOT said.

Illinois American Water plans to make an emergency repair to a water main at the intersection, IDOT said.

Traffic will be flagged to guide motorists through the work area, IDOT said. Motorists are asked to be patient and use caution in the work zone.
