Police find South Roxana boy who walked away from home

A 5-year-old boy was found safe in a little more than an hour after being reported missing Wednesday afternoon in the South Roxana area, according to Wood River Police.

Police from multiple departments spent Wednesday afternoon searching for Gabriel Pryor. Pryor had been reported missing from the 900 block of Southard Place in South Roxana, according to a post on the Wood River Police Department Facebook page. Wood River police say the boy was located close to his home at around 4 p.m.

Police say the boy had last been seen walking east on Wilson Street from Southard Place at approximately 2:40 p.m. Wednesday. South Roxana, Roxana, Wood River and Hartford Police departments assisted in the search.
