Storms, heavy rain poised to soak metro-east

Thunderstorms—some of which could pack high winds and hail—are poised to soak the metro-east Wednesday afternoon and evening.

The chance for more storms Wednesday night is 80 percent. The low will be 60. The chance for storms persists into Thursday morning, with more rain likely before 7 a.m.

The National Weather Service’s hazardous weather outlook indicates some of Wednesday night’s and Thursday morning’s storms could be strong to severe, with high winds and large hail being the main threat.

After the storm threat ends, look for partly sunny skies Thursday with a high of 71. It will be partly cloudy Thursday night with a low of 41.

It will be mostly cooler and partly sunny Friday with a high of 57, though there’s also a 20 percent chance of showers.

Sunny skies are back Saturday and Sunday with highs in the low 60s expected.
