Nomination period opening for 2016 Nurse of the Year

The March of Dimes Missouri Chapter is accepting nominations for its 2016 Nurse of the Year awards starting Friday.

The organization is looking to honor nurses who exemplify an extraordinary level of patient care, compassion and customer service. This year marks the 5th annual awards gala, presented by the Catherine McAuley School of Nursing at Maryville University.

Nurses employed in Missouri and Illinois counties of Jersey, Madison, St. Clair, Clinton, Monroe and Randolph are eligible to be nominated for the awards. A selection committee comprised of health care professionals will review the confidential nomination forms. About 20 nurses will be honored at a special awards gala scheduled Nov. 19 at the Marriott Grand Hotel in St. Louis.

Nomination forms are available online Friday through June 27.
