Thunderstorms may return to metro-east by early next week

It will be a mostly sunny, and sometimes windy, start to the work week in the metro-east, according to the National Weather Service. But thunderstorms may be back in the forecast by Tuesday.

Winds could gust as high as 33 mph on Sunday, when it will be sunny with a high near 71 and a low around 50.

Monday will also be sunny, with a high near 61 and a low around 34. The high temperature is expected to drop slightly on Tuesday, near 59. The low will be around 51.

It will be mostly sunny Tuesday, and wind gusts as high as 26 mph are expected.

Tuesday evening, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.
