Centreville precinct committeeman race ends in tie

The race for Democratic Precinct Committeeman in Centreville Township Precinct 20 ended in a tie, the St. Clair County Clerk’s office said after Tuesday’s canvas.

Peggy J. Pierce and Rhonda Nichols each received 54 votes during the March 15 primary election, according to official results.

Clifford Hults, finished third with 28 votes.

To decide who wins the election, the clerk’s office is scheduled to hold a lottery with Pierce and Nichols on April 12 in the clerk’s office at 10 Public Square in Belleville.
