IDOT extends work on MLK bridge
The Illinois Department of Transportation plans to close the right lane of the eastbound side of the Martin Luther King Bridge over the Mississippi River in East St. Louis during daytime hours for two additional days, the agency said.
Between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, weather permitting, the lane closure is scheduled to be in place.
These daytime restrictions, which have been in place for a week, are necessary to make repairs that were planned as part of the ongoing bridge rehabilitation project, IDOT said.
